LTE service is up and running in Tucson, Arizona. That's right, Cricket is testing the Tucson Market with their first LTE device, the Huawei Boltz - also known as the Huawei E397. CricKet plans on offering several smartphones in late 2012 and tablets as well running LTE. The Huawei Boltz is just the first to be tested for LTE service. Once they work out all the kinks the service will begin to pop up in other Markets. I was getting tired of 3g so this is very promising. 2 data plans of 5GB each are available, with $50 getting you download speeds of 3Mbps and $60 offering you 6Mbps. Having worked closely with Cricket in San Diego for about 5 years, I have seen how the Network gets saturated and 3G speeds drop significantly during peak hours (most of the day). If LTE service is going to be offered by Cricket, I really wish that they do something about their Network connectivity issues. Once it launches, lets just hope it stays TRUE 4g and doesn't drop down to 3g. It's not too much to ask. while the speeds may not be blazing fast compared to AT&T and Verizon LTE, its still a start for a true unlimited wireless carrier, Cricket.
